For those children that experience anxiety related to the dentist, we offer different methods to help address that anxiety.
Laughing gas is used to help children who are mildly anxious about their appointment. While using laughing gas, children are wide awake and able to communicate throughout the procedure. Laughing gas is very fast acting and at the end of the appointment a few deep breaths of room air will remove the effects of the laughing gas.
IV sedation is used for patients who have extensive dental needs that aren’t able to be met in the clinic setting. We have a board certified anesthesiologist to make sure that the procedure is as safe and comfortable as possible. Please ask if you have any questions about IV sedation for your child.
