Dr. Jake Hutchings
Dr. Jake Hutchings is passionate about creating an environment where children feel comfortable and excited to be at the dentist. He takes special care to work with the parents and ensure they are comfortable and informed about their child’s care.
Dr. Jake grew up in the Western U.S., from California to Montana to Utah. He played all sports, but fell in love with soccer. After high school, Dr. Jake lived in Mexico City for 2 years where he was able to learn to speak Spanish and fell in love with the people and culture of Mexico. After returning home, he graduated from Utah Valley University with a degree in construction management, which took him to states such as Georgia, North Carolina, and Florida. After shadowing several dentists, Dr. Jake realized that he had a passion for dentistry, and decided to go back to school.
While going to school to finish his prerequisites, he worked as an operations manager and dental assistant for a mobile pediatric dental clinic in New Mexico where he realized his passion was working with kids. He worked there for three years before starting dental school in Missouri, at A.T. Still University where he served in several different clubs and organizations as well as class president for a year. Immediately after dental school, he was selected to be in a pediatric residency program in Springfield, Missouri through the NYU Langone Hospital program.
Dr. Jake is excited to be living in the Pacific Northwest with his wife, Emily, and their six children, Cooper, Luke, Ethan, Anderson, Bennett, and Taya. They love outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, camping, and spending time watching each other compete on the fields or on the courts. It has always been a dream of theirs to live in this area of the country, and they are very excited to call it home now! As a pediatric specialist, Dr. Jake can’t wait to put fantastic smiles on the children in the area.
